About

Dr. Taufique Sayeed is a seasoned academic and researcher with over 18 years of multidisciplinary expertise spanning computer science, interactive systems, and healthcare applications. Currently serving as a Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Premier University, his work centers around advancing cybersecurity to protect vulnerable populations and foster inclusive digital well-being.

With a keen research focus on the intersection of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and mental health, Dr. Sayeed is passionate about designing innovative solutions to safeguard children and individuals with special needs in the online world. His current research explores the application of scalable machine learning models for early dyslexia detection, using alphabet image datasets to help educators and caregivers intervene effectively and improve educational outcomes.

Dr. Sayeed earned his Ph.D. through the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate in Interactive and Cognitive Environments, a collaborative program between Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain) and Alpen-Adria Universität Klagenfurt (Austria). His doctoral thesis made a valuable contribution to the field of Parkinson’s disease through gait analysis using wearable accelerometer technology.

In addition to his academic and research achievements, Dr. Sayeed has held several key administrative roles at Premier University, including:

  • Treasurer (Aug 2023 – Dec 2024)

  • Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Sciences (Apr 2019 – Dec 2024)

  • Director, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) (Aug 2016 – Mar 2025)

  • Academic Manager and Adjunct Faculty, UTS College at Premier University (Mar 2023 – Present)

As the Director of IQAC, he successfully led a 3-year quality assurance project under the HEQEP initiative, helping to enhance academic standards and institutional development.

Dr. Sayeed's global experience includes research roles in the European Union's Rempark Project at CETpD (UPC, Spain) and at the University of Klagenfurt under the Erasmus Mundus framework. His M.Sc. in Information Technology (Interactive Systems) from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden, further adds to his international academic background.

Committed to building safer, more inclusive, and technologically empowered communities, Dr. Taufique Sayeed continues to shape the future of digital literacy and cybersecurity education through research, leadership, and innovation.
